SPECIAL Features of Kia Sonet Absent Even on Kia Seltos

The upcoming Kia Seltos is equipped with many segment-leading features, three of which are even not offered on the Kia Seltos.

The Kia Sonet has been in the headlines of Indian automobile newspaper even before it was unveiled on August 7, 2020. The one-day bookings of the subcompact SUV have broken record of that of the Kia Seltos. The Kia Sonet is slated for launch next week and its deliveries are expected to commence by the end of this month. The vehicle is expected to be priced from INR 7 lakh to INR 13 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Kia Sonet will receive its power from three motors: a 1.2-litre gasoline burner, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre oil unit. Like its elder sibling, the Kia Sonet is equipped with many segment-leading features, three of which are even not available on the Kia Seltos.

Smart Auto Purifier with Inbuilt Perfume and Virus Protection

Both the Kia Seltos and Kia Sonet come with smart auto air purifier with the touch-based operation. Nevertheless, the Kia Sonet is the first car ever in the world to get inbuilt perfume and virus protection features. Whereas the virus protection system is always kept engaged, the perfume feature needs to be switched on through the touchscreen system.

Remote Engine Start for Manual Version

On the Kia Seltos, the remote engine start is offered only on AT and DCT variants. Meanwhile, in its younger sibling, the Kia Sonet, this feature is also available on the iMT and the manual versions as well. If you want to implement the remote motor start for the manual variants of the Kia Sonet, you just have to engage the parking brake and gear slotted into neutral.

The latest iMT unit that Hyundai and Kia have developed is offered only on the Sonet and Venue. Practicality is one of the most unique selling points of this gearbox, which offers the driver the comfort of an automatic unit and the fun of a manual one. Although currently, the Kia Seltos is not offered with an iMT, it might be a possibility in the foreseeable future. Above are three features which are expected to be equipped on the Kia Sonet but absent on the Seltos. After the success of the Kia Seltos, the Kia Sonet, with segment-first features, is expected to gain the same or even the greater success than its elder brother.
