Wondering whether the AC of Tata Altroz is powerful enough to sail you comfortably though Indian summers? Well, read ahead to know.

The season of summer is upon us, and Indian summers are quite brutal. We all know that feeling when your car has been sitting in the sun and the cabin becomes unbearably hot. The moment you enter the car, a blast of hot air hits you in the face and you reach out for the AC controls. An effective air-conditioning system becomes a necessity in our country during the summer months. In this regard, Tata Altroz is one of the best cars you can buy. It has a very powerful AC system, which can be seen in the video below.

2020 Tata Altroz AC test | VJ AUTO VLOGS

This video was posted by Vijay Giri on his YouTube channel ‘VJ AUTO VLOGS’. Here, we can see a Tata Altroz XE (base trim) parked in the sun, in a manner similar to the one described in the intro. The person begins by showing us (the viewers) an infrared gun. By pointing it towards a surface, he can check the temperature of that surface. He first uses the gun on the door panel and the dashboard, both of which are exposed to sunlight. Their temperatures are found to be 49.9o C and 49.1o C, respectively. The AC is turned off and is at 45.5o C.

After checking the initial temperature, the car is turned on and the AC is also switched on. The multi-information display in the instrument cluster shows the time to be 2:53 PM. In just two minutes, the temperature of the air being blown by the AC had reached 22.4o C. Another minute later, we see that the temperature of the air from the AC had reached 15o C. This continues on for a while. At 3:00 PM, the man takes the last reading of the air blowing from the AC. It turns out to be 11.7o C, which is quite impressive. Usually, the AC systems in cars are not very powerful, but we can see that’s not the case here.
