The Tata Altroz is one of the best premium hatchbacks you can buy, and it's one of the few cars with a full 5 star safety rating by Global NCAP. Check this video out on how the Altroz saved its occupants in a heavy crash.

Launched in January of this year, the Tata Altroz was unfortunately overshadowed by the global Covid-19 pandemic and ensuing lockdown. After lockdown levels were relaxed, Hyundai launched their new i20 during Diwali to further make the Tata an afterthought. But it has bounced back somewhat and is currently the highest-selling Tata car, it offers similar features and an attractive design like the i20 and starts at lower prices as well. It received the full 5 stars in adult safety rating in the Global NCAP tests as well, making the Tata Altroz one of the safest cars you can buy in India currently. We at IndianAuto have previously covered a few accidents of the Altroz in which the occupants come out unscathed, and today we came across another one.

In the video that has been uploaded by Prateek Singh over on YouTube, we see two Tata Altroz accidents that happened recently. The first accident happened in Indore where an Altroz was travelling at moderate speeds when the Maruti Alto in front had to brake suddenly as a cow came across. Since there was no gap between the cars the Altroz ended up crashing into the back of the Alto. Furthermore, a Maruti Swift which was behind crashed into the back of the Tata as well. Both the Marutis suffered heavy damage with the Swift’s front end crumpled heavily. Surprisingly the Altroz suffered only minor cosmetic damages.

The second accident as you’ll see is a much more serious one, and it happened very recently in Madhya Pradesh. The occupants of this Tata Altroz were coming back from a wedding when the driver saw a dump truck careening towards them at speeds of around 70 kmph. The driver in the Altroz tried to swerve right but the truck was too close and hit them directly on the driver’s side. The accident was so violent that the Altroz immediately came to a standstill. As you can see the front driver’s of the car has been damaged very heavily, that is because the car’s crash structure and crumple zones worked as they were meant to. All the occupants came out uninjured with the driver only suffering minor bruises. Later on, it came to light that the dump truck’s steering had failed, which is why it couldn’t do anything.
