Tata Altroz starts at a rather low price tag of Rs. 5.29 lakh for the entry-level variant, which hardly gets any equipment on board. However, this one has been modified to get similar features as the range-topping variant.

Ever since Tata Altroz has made its entry in the Indian car market, it is enjoying a lot of attention for the way it looks. The carmaker has also priced it quite strategically. The base-spec Altroz XE (petrol) carries a sticker price of Rs. 5.29 lakh, while the next trim in the hierarchy – XM, is priced at Rs. 6.15 lakh. The top-spec XZ(O), on the other hand, carries an ex-showroom price of Rs. 7.74 lakh. Thus, it is evident that the entry-level trim of the Altroz is quite affordable; the story isn’t the same with the other variants. However, the top-spec trims offer a lot more equipment than what entry-level XE trim does. But, a lot of it can be bought as aftermarket equipment at a much cheaper price. Here’s a video from Biker Muters’ YouTube channel which shows the same.

In the video, it can be seen that the host takes an Altroz XE to a tuning shop and get it loaded with a lot of features. To start with, it gets an RD centre locking system. The remote of the system replicates the key fob design of the Toyota Fortuner. Thus, it gets a boot-unlock switch, but that does not support this function here. It turns on the hazard lamps, instead. This centre locking system comes with a 3-year on-site warranty. Next, this Altroz gets fitted with, is a set of leatherette seat covers. They are designed in conjunction with the interior of the car.

Since the XE variant of Altroz does not come with an infotainment system, it has been fitted with an aftermarket one. It gets a touchscreen head unit that runs on Android 9.1 with a quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. With the help of a crossover, it powers 2 tweeters, 2 component speakers, and 2 RMS from JBL. Also, this Altroz gets illuminated scuff plates and a leather-wrapped centre front-armrest with storage. The rear windows are also power-operated now. To accentuate the overall appeal of the car, it now gets custom LED DRLs that also double-up as floating LED turn indicators. With all of these features on board, this base-spec Altroz is surely nearing the top-spec Altroz in terms of equipment.
