Tata Altroz Crashes Into Truck, Under-run Bar Saves The Day

This Tata Altroz collided with the truck, thus damaging its under-run bar. However, it suffered minimal damage. Read about the complete incident here.

Tata cars are receiving a lot of appreciation for their sturdy build quality. The case is similar with their newest offering – Altroz as well. The Altroz received a 5-star crash test rating at Global-NCAP’s testbed. Also, in the few accidents that have been reported to date, Altroz has performed. Now, we came across a video of another accident of a Tata Altroz where the car collided with a truck, where all passengers walked out it safely. This video uploaded by YouTuber Nikhil Rana on his channel. We aren’t surprised to share that the Altroz suffered minimal damages.

The accident took place when a truck suddenly came on the road from behind a parked truck. It was a blind spot for the Altroz’s driver as he could not imagine what’s there ahead of the parked truck. By the time, the truck was visible to the Altroz’s driver, it was pretty late. According to him, pulling hard on the brakes could not help them stop either, since the truck was pretty close to them. Thus, the car rammed into the under-run bar of the truck. While the under-run bar of the truck lost its shape, the Altroz suffered dents and scratches on the front left fender, bonnet, and front bumper.

In the mishap, the Altroz proved of its strong build quality, while the under-run bar on the truck did its job as well. These bars are fixed on the sides and rear-end of a truck so that a small vehicle does not run under the truck in case of a mishap. Since in most cases, the trucks are loaded and running under them is potentially dangerous.

Talking of the safety equipment that Altroz comes equipped with, the list is pretty long. It gets ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, seat belt reminders, front seat belt with pre-tensioners and load limiters, rear parking sensors, high-speed alerts, corner stability control, collapsible steering column, and ISOFIX child seats as standard fitment across the range. The top-spec trims, on the other hand, get the added safety net of reverse parking camera, rain-sensing wipers, rear defogger, front & rear fog lamps, IRVM with day-night function and more.
