The video has been uploaded by Arun Panwar on YouTube, with the comparison starting with the exteriors of the Tata Altroz and the Hyundai i20. The Altroz edges out in the looks department with its muscular design as the reviewer feels the i20 looks very similar to other Hyundai vehicles like the Verna. The side profile of the Altroz gets a black insert with the window line rising near the rear, while the i20 gets a simpler window line with chrome garnish with the Hyundai’s side getting more chrome elements compared to the Tata. The rear end of both hatchbacks looks sleek and premium with their gloss black finish.

Moving over to the interior, the Tata Altroz gets features like a semi-digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, auto climate control, steering-mounted controls, and more. The Hyundai i20 gets a fully digital instrument cluster, a bigger infotainment screen with a higher resolution feed from the rear parking camera, wireless charging, and so on. The i20 is a more feature-packed vehicle compared to the Altroz, but it is also more expensive than the latter. The i20 was tested in the Asta trim which costs around Rs 10 lakh while the Altroz XZ trim for this test is priced around Rs 8.5 lakh, both prices ex-showroom.

Tata Altroz Vs Hyundai i20, Detailed Comparison - VIDEO

In term of refinement, the Hyundai i20 does a better job in insulating the occupants from outside noises and vibrations compared to the Tata Altroz. Both hatchbacks rear seat space although adequate is quite a bit less than the Maruti Baleno. The Atroz is better than the i20 in terms of safety and build quality, the former the only hatchback in the class to have a full 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. The Tata also offers a bigger boot than the Hyundai. In terms of performance, the Tata Altroz and its 1.2-litre three-pot petrol engine feel underpowered compared to the Hyundai i20 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine. Both engines make similar power and torque figures, but the Altroz is a heavier vehicle overall which may be a reason for it to feel sluggish. We hope our Tata Altroz vs Hyundai i20 Comparison helps you pick the best one for you.
