Tata Harrier Rendered In A Pick-Up Truck Avatar

Tata Harrier is one of the popularly known SUVs in its segment. Earlier this year, Tata Motors introduced the BSVI version of the SUV and it rubs shoulders with the likes of MG Hector and Jeep Compass. Earlier, we’ve seen a lot of rendered iterations of the Tata Harrier, but here, we have a new digital rendering of the SUV that shows what the car will look like after getting converted into a pick-up truck. As seen in the illustration, the Harrier-based pickup features an extended rear and a double cab passenger compartment. Also, the rear fascia of the pickup looks a lot different from what can be seen on the SUV it is based on.

While the digital rendering looks quite sporty, an actual production model based on this render could look a lot more sober. However, it must be mentioned here that the vehicle seen in the illustration is merely a figment of imagination and Tata Motors has no plans of pushing it into production. The major reason for this is the low demand for pickup trucks. 

In other news, Tata has plans to introduce two new trim of Harrier to further expand the variant options for the potential buyers. Right now, the SUV is offered in 8 different trim levels, namely- XE, XM, XT, XZ, XZ+, XMA, XZA and XZA+. The upcoming XTA and XT+ variants will be positioned between the current top two trims. The 2020 Tata Harrier comes loaded with features like a big panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable driver seat, auto-dimming IRVM and new set of alloy wheels.

It derives power from a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre Fiat-sourced turbo-diesel mill that produces 170 PS of peak power and 350 Nm of twisting force. The updated diesel engine produces 30 PS of more power than the BS4 model. In terms of dimension, the 2020 Tata Harrier is 4,598 mm long, 1,894 mm wide, 1,706 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,741 mm. The SUV is retailed at a starting price of Rs 13.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and goes all the way up to Rs 16.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
