A new video has surfaced on the internet which shows that Tata Harrier is capable of touching a top speed of 180 kmph

Introduced in January this year, Tata Harrier has become the best-selling SUV of its segment. The car offers a new-age design and a high road presence. The SUV is powerful enough to take you ahead of most of the city traffic. Moreover, the SUV is quick enough for doing overtakes on the highways. But have you thought what would be the top-speed of this premium Tata SUV? Given below is a video that shows a top speed test being conducted on the Tata Harrier.

The video uploaded by this channel shows that Tata Harrier effortlessly touched a top speed of 180 kmph. Due to the speedometer error, the true speed of the SUV couldn't be found out but it shouldn't be much lesser than the 180 kmph mark. Tata Harrier draws power from a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre diesel engine. This is the same engine which powers the Jeep Compass and MG Hector. However, the engine propelling Harrier has been retuned to produce lower power outputs. It develops 140 PS of power and 350 Nm of twisting force. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The car features multiple driving modes, which is something that is not available in Jeep Compass and MG Hector. Using these modes, one can adjust the power delivery and the fuel-efficiency of the motor as per his driving preferences. The Tata Harrier is offered with three driving modes, namely Eco, City and Sports. The maximum power is extracted when the SUV is in sports mode and, the least power output is delivered in Eco mode.

Due to the speedometer error, the true speed of the SUV is not captured, but it was around 80 kmph.

For now, buyers of the Tata Harrier can have this SUV only with a 6-speed manual transmission. However, the company is expected to soon offer a 6-speed automatic transmission option. Moreover, Tata has also started working on the BSVI-compliant engine for Harrier. You can stay tuned to the Indian Auto for more updates on this premium SUV.
