CM Uddhav Thackeray gets several Tata Harrier SUVs in his convoy. These are the entry-level models of the SUV.

Tata Harrier is one of the most popular SUVs offered by the carmaker in the Indian market. It rivals with the likes of MG Hector and Jeep Compass. Early this year, the carmaker introduced the new facelift model of the SUV with subtle cosmetic and feature updates. Tata cars have a massive road presence on our roads. Tata SUVs are quite popular among the politicians in India. Uddhav Thackeray, the 19th CM of Maharashtra has started using Tata cars in his convoy. His convoy now gets several black coloured Tata Harrier SUVs guarding the main vehicle. The pilot car in the convoy is also an all-black Tata Harrier.

These are not the black edition of the SUVs. They are the black coloured Harrier base XE variant. This is the only CMs convoy in our country to have a few Tata Harrier SUVs. As one can see in the video, there are three black-coloured Tata Harrier. Other than the Tata SUV, the convoy also gets made-in-India Mahindra TUV300 and XUV500. Moreover, there’s also a few Land Rover Range Rover cars, and Maharashtra’s CM Uddhav Thackeray himself travels in a Mercedes-Benz S-Class. It is not known if all these vehicles are armoured or not. Talking about Tata Harrier, the SUV derives power from a 2.0-litre, four-pot diesel engine, which is capable of shredding out 168bhp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties are done by a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
