After being displayed at the Auto Expo 2020, Tata Hexa Safari Edition is slated to go on sale by the end of this year. The new version of the Hexa will get the required BSVI update and minor visual tweaks. .

Tata Motors launched the Tata Hexa in 2017. The premium SUVwas available for three years before it went out of production this year. Due to the low sales performance, the company decided not to renew the Tata Hexa to meet the upcoming BSVI emission norms. However, the good news is that Tata will not entirely cross out the Hexa’s nameplate. Instead, the company has decided to introduce a new version based on the discontinued model. This new vehicle is named Tata Hexa Safari Edition.

At the Auto Expo 2020, Tata brought the Tata Hexa Safari Edition to display floors along with other new vehicles like Gravitas, HBX and new Sierra. This new edition of the Tata Hexa is expected to go on sale by the end of this year. Overall, the upcoming Tata Hexa Safari Edition 2020 is an accessorized version of the standard Hexa. The launch of this SUV will take place in the second half of 2020. Apparently, the Tata Hexa Safari Edition will comply with the new BSVI emission norms.

Exterior and Interior Design

Compared to the standard version, the Tata Hexa Safari Edition will get a bolder appearance. Tata has designed the new Safari Edition based on the 4x4 variant of the now-discontinued Hexa. At the Auto Expo, the Safari Edition featured a new foliage green exterior colour. As revealed by Tata, the upcoming Hexa Safari Edition’s colour options will be inspired by the “earthy tones of the outdoors.” In addition new colour options, the Safari Edition receives body cladding, revised grille, black alloy wheels, contrasting paint, and set of roof rails, emphasizing the ruggedness of the original design.

The interior of Hexa Safari Edition features a dual-tone colour scheme and new upholstery. To differentiate from the standard version, Tata Safari Edition features a new badging for the exterior and interior. Apart from that, the interior of the Safari Edition is identical to the interior of the old model.

Features

Upcoming Tata Hexa Safari Edition 2020 will be offered with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-speaker sound system, cruise control, and rear parking camera. In terms of safety features, it will get standard features like dual front airbags, rear parking sensor and ABS with EBD.

Powertrains

Tata Hexa Safari Edition will come with a BSVI version of the 2.2-litre diesel engine producing a top power of 156 PS and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. This engine will carry forward with the similar transmission options, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It is likely that a 4x4 drive system will be offered as an option.

Prices

Since the Tata Hexa Safari Edition gets a host of new accessories, the price of this model will command an extra amount over the standard Hexa. Tata Hexa was previously offered at the price range from Rs 13.7 lakh and to Rs 19.27 lakh.

When entered the market, Tata Hexa Safari Edition will rival against the Toyota Innova Crysta and MG Hector. Besides the re-launch of the Tata Hexa under a new avatar, Tata Motors is preparing for the launch of the Gravitas and HBX.
