It’s been a common practice that carmakers in India often give the entry-level variants of their models a competitively low price which unavoidably entails a compromise on the features package. From this, aftermarket accessories are there to help us out. People often opt for aftermarket features to endear their entry-level cars while still enjoying the pocket-friendly pricing. The same emerges on the mind of this Tata Nexon base model owner. Here’s a video showing an entry-level variant of the Tata Nexon that has transformed inside-out to replicate the feature-rich top-end model.

We find this video available on a Youtube channel named Lalit Raghuvanshi that shows us a Tata Nexon 2020 base model loaded to the gills with aftermarket features to enhance its premium appeal. To begin with, let’s find out what are and are not offered on the Tata Nexon base trim in the stock form. The entry-level XE variant of the Tata Nexon is being offered with projector headlamps with tri-arrow DRLs, tri-arrow LED tail lamps, flat-bottom steering, full-digital instrument cluster, air conditioner, front power windows, umbrella holder in the front doors, rear seat cushion 100 % flip & flat fold along with some safety essentials.

Plenty of changes have been made to the Nexon base model here to make it as feature-rich as the range-topping version, from the outside to the inside. This Nexon has been customized with aftermarket Minda Kosei alloy wheels which looks completely nice enough to replace the original steel ones. The chrome-lined door visors with aftermarket roof rails, both derived from Galio have been added to the car as well. The sleeker-looking shark fin antenna now takes up the place of the stock unit. The body-coloured door handles and ORVMs are done by the factory as required by the owner while booking the SUV. The silver-painted tri-arrow design patterns for the grill and the faux skid plate really helps enhance the premium quotient of the vehicle. The same treatment has been given to the reflector housings and rear skid plate.

Moving to the inside, the owner has also given the Tata Nexon base model a couple of changes, in the forms of a custom 7D floor mats, a parcel tray, aftermarket power controls for the rear windows, aftermarket centre armrest along with plenty of USB charging ports. The car owner even equips the Tata Nexon base model with a touchscreen infotainment system, central locking, rear parking camera which are all unavailable on the factory-fitted version. Notably, the infotainment system makes use of a massive 10.0-inch Android touchscreen, along with a JBL audio system.

It’s true that all of the mod jobs done to the Tata Nexon 2020 base model here are really practical. With all of these aftermarket fitments in place, it doesn’t feel like a base-spec variant of the Tata Nexon any more. The Tata Nexon base model has completely transformed inside and out to look even better than the top-spec model, no?
