Tata Nexon Camo Owner REVEALS Reasons For Rejecting Kia Sonet

Tata Nexon is one of the best-selling cars of the indigenous carmaker and is highly praised for its 5-star G-NCAP crash test rating. The compact-SUV received a mid-cycle update in January this year, which came with revised styling, updated feature list, and BS-6 compliant engines. The Nexon competes with the likes of Kia Sonet, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and more. But, why should you choose the Nexon over its rivals? The host starts with the Kia Sonet first. According to him, the absence of a proper automatic gearbox on the Sonet’s mid-variant was a deal-breaker for him. While the iMT misses out on a clutch pedal, the driver needs to change the gears manually, which was something he was not very keen about. Moreover, the host felt that the rear seat space on the Nexon is higher than what Sonet offers. Moving over to the Ford EcoSport, the automatic variant of this compact-SUV retails at around Rs. 14 lakh. Also, the host claims that the EcoSport’s design has started to show its age now.

The main reason for not considering the Mahindra XUV300 according to the Nexon owner was its small trunk volume. However, the host also explains the reasons, why he ended up buying the Nexon. He claims that Tata Motors is offering almost all the safety features as standard fitment on the Nexon, and there’s a very little difference between the top-spec and base-spec trims of the Nexon in terms of safety aids. Furthermore, it is the cheapest sunroof-equipped sub-4m compact-SUV on sale in the country.

The next reason on the list is the Harman-sourced infotainment system that is available even on the mid-spec XM trim. Furthermore, the 1.2L petrol motor on the Nexon is in line with the Kia Sonet’s turbo-petrol engine with a peak power output of 120 PS. Well, in case you are wondering why the owner is referring to his car as Camo Edition Nexon? It is because he opted for the Foliage Green colour option, which is almost identical to the paint scheme of Tata Harrier Camo Edition.
