Nowadays, cars can get a dual-tone wrap as a much more affordable alternative to the two-tone paint scheme. This Tata Nexon owner has applied this method to his car to give it a more attractive colour.

Thanks to its sporty nature, the dual-tone paint scheme is much more appealing to cars’ owners than its monotone counterpart. Nevertheless, the two-tone paint scheme sometimes can be exorbitant. Therefore, cars’ owners have a tendency to give their vehicles a two-tone wrap job instead. Being just a thin film, a wrap can be applied to the car without violating Indian laws. This Tata Nexon's owner has added a two-tone wrap to his vehicle to transform his Nexon from a boring monotone car to an appealing two-tone coloured one. Before going to the details, let’s have a look at this video.

Tata Nexon exterior modification...roof wrapping

The modified Tata Nexon gets a red stripe along its roofline and on the alloy wheels, which lends the vehicle a unique look.  According to the car’s owner, the entire job costs only INR 20,000, which is far less than the two-tone colour option provided by the company.

From a boring monotone vehicle, this Tata Nexon has turned into an attractive dual-tone car for only INR 2000.

Nevertheless, while the former is only a contemporary one which can be easily removed and get damaged by numerous factors such as stone hits, heats or birds dropping, the latter is a permanent one. Moreover, the cars which get painted in dual colours by the automaker get registered on the Registration Certificate, but for such a mod job, there is no need for this RC.

Being the first-ever sub-4-metre compact SUV from the domestic carmaker for the Indian market, soon after its launch, the Tata Nexon became one of the top-selling vehicles in the Indian auto market. Nevertheless, this segment is becoming increasingly competitive with the launches of many new, modern SUVs such as the Hyundai Venue and the Mahindra XUV300. As a result, the sales number of the Tata Nexon has been reduced, despite still being a good seller.

The Nexon keeps under its hood multiple engine and transmission options. Firstly, the 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor can deliver 108 BHP against 170 Nm. Secondly, the 1.5-litre diesel turbo unit is good for 108 PHP against 260 Nm. Both the petrol and diesel motors are available with a 6-speed MT and AMT unit, which makes the Nexon become the first and the only sub-4-meter compact SUV in India to come with an Automated Manual Transmission in both the petrol and the diesel version.
