Take a look at the base variant of the Tata Nexon EV here. While it comes with steel rims, it is decently equipped on the inside.

The Tata Nexon EV is currently the most reasonably-priced electric car in the Indian auto market for average customers; therefore, it accounts for around 60% of the market share in the EV segment in India. The Indian EV segment is still in its initial stage of development, but the Tata Nexon EV has succeeded in being a fruitful zero-emission offering. The Tata Nexon EV is available in three variants: XM, XZ Plus and XZ Plus Lux. While most of the videos available until now are only of the top-spec variants, recently, a walkaround video of the base XM variant has been released by Narru's Auto Vlog's on their YouTube channel.

The Tata Nexon EV is offered in three different colours: Glacier White, Moonlight Silver, and Signature Teal Blue. However, the vehicle in the video features a white colour scheme. The XZ Plus and top-spec Plus trims are only available in dual-tone paint schemes. The base XM variant comes with black door handles instead of body-coloured units. The electric SUV runs on 16-inch steel wheels with rim covers which feature blue inserts. In terms of design, they are different from the 16-inch alloy wheels seen in the higher-spec variants.

The ORVMs, instead of being body-coloured units, they have also been blackened out. The similar case occurs to the A and B pillars. The ORVMs are integrated with turn indicators. Black body cladding on both the sides is also provided as standard across all the variants. Instead of a shark-fin antenna, the Tata Nexon XM comes with a bigger antenna unit. A blue strip below the piano black grille adds a nice contrast, which informs people that it is an EV. The tri-arrow shape pattern can be spotted at a lot of places, such as the blue-inserts in the front and rear bumpers, DRLs, and taillights. The ‘EV’ badging has also been mounted all over the car. Between the taillights is a piano black finish which also comes with the ZIPTRON badging.

As regards the features on offer, the XM trim of the Tata Nexon EV is equipped with projector headlights with integrated DRLs, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, LED tail lamps, etc. The interior feature list includes a standard Harman 4-speaker 2-DIN stereo system which supports Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted controls, automatic climate control, start/stop button, passive keyless entry and more.

The Tata Nexon EV receives its power from the brand’s newest ZIPTRON powertrains with a 3-phase Permanent Magnet motor which takes the power from a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This system manufactures 129 PS against 245 Nm. While the claimed travel range of the EV is 312 kilometres (ARAI), in the real-world conditions it is reported to be around 250 kilometres. The EV can be charged from 10% to 90% in around 8.5 hours, but with a DC fast charger, it can be charged from 0 to 80% in 60 minutes. The Tata Nexon EV's XM trim is priced at INR 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
