Tata cars are now quite popular around the country for their sturdy and robust built quality. Earlier, we’ve seen a lot of horrific crashes of Tata vehicles on the internet, ending without any serious damage to the passengers sitting inside the car. Tata Motors is consistently enhancing safety standards of its vehicles. As many of you may know that Tata Nexon was the first Indian made car which scored 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP crash test last year.

The reason behind the accident is not known yet, but one can see that the hatchback has badly slammed on to a light pole and the collision leading to breaking the pole. The front fascia of the car got completely damaged, but the good part is driver and passengers escaped the hatchback safely without severe injuries. These images clearly show that Tata Tiago is much safer than any other entry-level hatchback offered in the Indian market.

Tata Motors launched the Tiago in the Indian market back in 2016 and late last year the hatchback received a mild update. Mechanically, it derives power from a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder gasoline engine which churns out 84bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of peak torque at 3,300 rpm. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed MT or an AMT gearbox. It rubs shoulders with the likes of Hyundai Santro and Maruti WagonR. The carmaker has plans to launch Tiago facelift in the near future. Tata also offers a performance-oriented version of the car named as Tiago JTP, which is propelled by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor that produces power and torque outputs of 114 PS and 150 Nm. Tiago JTP is only offered in a single variant and is priced at Rs 6.71 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
