Out-of-control Tata Tiago Crashes Into A Showroom in Chandigarh, All Safe [VIDEO]

Tata Tiago is the smallest offering of the Indian carmaker in the country. Also, it is one of the best-selling cars from Tata Motors. It has recently been updated with a BSVI-compliant engine and has received some styling update as a part of its mid-cycle refresh. Also, the car has received a 4-star crash test rating from G-NCAP. But, a crash test rating is not everything that you need. Avoiding a crash is even more important. However, here’s Tata Tiago that went all out of the owner’s control and crashed into the showroom's facade. The incident took place in the market of Sector-17, Chandigarh, which happens to be a busy place on normal days.

The Tiago was parked at a designated spot. However, when the owner came back after finishing his shopping chores and tried to crank the car, it sped itself up, climbed the pavement, and crashed into the GAP showroom. However, we believe that the owner might have unknowingly pressed the accelerator pedal while the car was parked with gear lever left in D-position. Since this is the automatic variant of the car, it is most likely to be reason for the accident.

Also, another reason could be a fault in the car, which made it accelerate to the extent that this accident took place. The impact of this crash was huge, and the deployed airbags can also be seen in the video. Thankfully, no one was hurt in this mishap. Even the occupants of the Tiago are safe.

The Tata Tiago comes equipped with all the basic safety equipment as a standard fitment across the range. This includes dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, front seat belt reminders, high-speed alerts, ABS with EBD, seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters. Talking of the powertrain, Tiago is offered with a 1.2L 3-pot petrol motor only. It is capable of putting out a peak power and torque output of 86 PS and 113 Nm, respectively. The transmission options on the Tiago include a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT.
