Tata Tiago has proved its build quality in accidents time and again. Here's one, which was crushed under a freight container, but the driver survived. Check out the video and report here.

Tata Tiago is the smallest and the cheapest offering from the Indian carmaker. Despite the small size and low price tag, Tiago has scored a 4-star crash test rating at Global NCAP testbed. The Tiago also looks good as it, now, in its facelifted avatar, follows the Impact 2.0 design theme. Apart from the test rig, the hatchback has proved its build quality at various other occasions, when it has met with accidents on roads. Here’s a video, which depicts the same, when a freight container toppled over the Tiago. We came across this video via YouTube channel of Prateek Singh. It can be seen in the video that the container is resting over the Tiago after being toppled.

Talking of the aftereffects, the roof and pillars of the car were completely crushed. They are now on the same plane as the bonnet. However, as reported in the video and by other sources, the driver survived, but it took over 4 hours to bring him out of the mangled remains of the car. Chances of survival of the driver or the occupants in such a case are rather low, but Tiago somehow managed to pull it off. Also, what’s interesting is that the wheels of the Tiago still hold their shape and the suspension has not bottomed out. Thus, the crowd was able to pull the car out from beneath the truck with lesser effort.
