If you're in the market for a hatchback which is great value for money, then check out the Tata Tiago. Today we have a mileage test for the Tiago via tank to tank method to get the real figures.

The Tata Tiago is one of the best selling vehicles in the automaker’s lineup, with its combination of attractive looks, feature-loaded trim levels and competitive pricing making it one of the best choices in its segment. Even though it was launched back in 2016 and new rivals have arrived, Tata keeps giving the Tiago periodic updates to keep the hatchback from getting dated. Recently, the Tiago got a new limited edition model which celebrates one year of the Tiago getting its mid-life facelift. Based on the mid-range XT trim, the limited edition is Rs 30,000 more expensive than said trim and is limited to 2,000 units. Today we came across this Tiago mileage test which may be helpful if you’re planning on buying one.

The video has been uploaded by Amar Drayan on YouTube. The video is a fuel-efficiency test and will be using the MID and a tank to tank method to get the final figures. The route is around 50 kilometres, with 70% of it being driven on the highway at speeds up to 90 kmph. Driving on the highway sees the MID indicates a mileage of 23.7 kmpl. During the city portion of the route, the Tiago is showing figures of 21.2 kmpl in stop and go traffic conditions. Returning to the same fuel station, the Tiago has filled up to the brim again. After calculating, the tank to tank method results in a fuel economy figure of 18.1 kmpl, very respectable considering the AC was switched on the whole time.

That said, the Tata Tiago is one of the most feature-loaded and safest cars in its segment. It is the safest, scoring 4-stars in the Global NCAP crash test safety ratings. The Tiago comes with features like dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, roll-over mitigation, seat belt alarm, high-speed alert, seat belt with pre-tensioners and load limiters, reverse parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. Also, the range-topping trim of Tiago boasts of a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with an 8-speaker HARMAN-tuned sound system.
