Tata Tiago is mostly in the limelight for just one reason, its 4-star G-NCAP crash test rating. The small hatchback is the highest selling car from Tata Motors’ stable. It was updated with revised styling and BS-6 compliant engine, earlier this year. These changes have surely helped the Tiago find more buyers. But, here’s a set of pictures, which we came across via a social media platform where the owner of the Tiago has managed to fit in a 7-feet aluminium ladder inside the car. These pictures were posted by Manish Pant, and it is the XZ+ dual-tone variant of the Tiago.

The Tiago is a spacious car with generous headroom, legroom, shoulder room and knee room for four occupants. Five, however, are a tight squeeze here. This ladder has been fitted inside the car, diagonally. Although, the rear seats have not been folded down to do so. Talking of the Tiago’s interior, it is loaded with a lot of features. To talk of, it comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, Harman-tuned sound system, all-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, tilt-adjustable steering wheel, steering mounted audio controls, power-adjustable & foldable ORVMs and more.

For the safety of occupants, the Tiago comes fitted with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, roll-over mitigation, seat belt warning, high-speed alerts, seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, and reverse parking sensors as standard fitment across the range. The top-spec trims, however, come with the addition of fog lamps, reverse parking camera with guidelines, and day-night IRVM.

Powering the Tiago is a 1.2L 3-pot petrol motor that develops a peak power output of 86 PS and max torque of 113 Nm. Transmission choices on the Tiago include a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT. Also, Tata Motors is currently testing the diesel variant of the Tiago, which is expected to reach the showroom floors by sometime next year. Prices for Tata Tiago start at Rs. 4.70 lakh and goes up to Rs 6.74 lakh. With these prices, the Tiago rivals the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and more.
