Tata Motors is known to produce some of the safest cars in the country. The entry-level offerings of the carmaker – Tiago and Tigor have scored a 4-star rating at Global NCAP, whereas the Nexon and Altroz come with a 5-star crash test rating. However, the brand’s flagship product ‘Harrier’ is yet to be tested. With a high focus on passenger safety, the brand has now come up with another innovative way to keep its car and customers safe from the pandemic causing contagious pathogen, as the brand has now started to deliver the cars in a safety bubble.

While it sounds a little strange, it surely seems like the safest way to keep a car away from getting contaminated after being sanitized. These bubbles are used to park the cars, which are ready for their delivery and have been sanitized already. It can be seen that a Nexon and a Tiago are parked in the safety bubble while the delivery process is conducted. Similarly, the same process will be followed for the Altroz and Harrier and all other cars.

Talking of the Tiago, the brand has recently updated the service interval of the entry-level hatchback from 6 months to 1 Year/15,000 km, whichever is earlier. The Tiago received a mid-cycle facelift, earlier this year. It is now offered with a 1.2L Revotron motor that is capable of pushing out a peak power output of 86 PS and max torque of 113 Nm. The gearbox options on the Tiago include a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT.

The Nexon, on the other hand, is available with two powertrain choices – 1.2L turbo-petrol and 1.5L oil burner. The petrol engine is capable of producing 120 PS against 170 Nm, while the diesel engine can dish out a rated output of 110 PS/260 Nm. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed AMT. The prices of the Nexon start at Rs. 6.99 lakh and go up to Rs. 12.70 lakh. Prices of the Tiago, however, start at Rs. 4.69 lakh and top out at Rs. 6.73 lakh.
