Check out this modified Maruti Suzuki Swift which has been extensively modified into a track-ready pocket rocket!

Maruti Swift is one of the most popular cars in India, owing to its great balance of performance and fuel efficiency, provided in a stylish yet affordable package. Of course, there is plenty of scope for improvement, especially if you think the performance bit could be better. Here we have one such modified Swift, which features some extensive engine upgrades.

The pictures seen here were posted on Stay Tuned India’s Facebook page by Suneet, the owner of the car. This particular modified Swift is an older model (first generation, 2005 to 2011). It has been built by Byram Godrej, and the performance tuning was performed by N1 Racing Equipment, a custom car garage based in Mumbai. There are plenty of aesthetic as well as mechanical changes to the car, which we shall list here. Let’s begin with the looks first.

Modified Maruti Suzuki Swift front angle

At the front, there is a new grille, with a three-part design and honeycomb mesh. The front bumper is also redesigned, with additional (fake?) air-vents around the fog lamp housing. The creases of the bodywork have been adorned with green tape, which looks quite cool. At the side, there are no changes, except for the new 16-inch Sparco Assetto Garra alloy wheels with 205/50 tyres.

Modified Maruti Suzuki Swift rear angle

The rear portion of the car has a sweet spoiler mounted on the boot. The rear bumper is new, and has a large faux mesh diffuser between the two new exhaust pipes near either end of the bumper.

In terms of engine upgrades, this Swift gets an ECU upgrade, a Garrett GT20 Turbocharger, an intercooler with Silicone plumbing, Stage 1 Exedy Clutch, Forged Pistons, Fidanza Performance Flywheel, and a boost gauge. Other mechanical upgrades include an Adjustable Suspension system with Electronic Damping Control, new Six-Piston Brakes with 320mm Rotors, Racing Seats, Racing Harnesses, a deep-dish steering wheel.

As this is the first generation Maruti Suzuki Swift, it has a 1.3-litre, naturally aspirated, inline-4, petrol engine. The maximum power and torque figures of the stock car are 86 bhp and 113 Nm, respectively. This modified version manages to belt out much more, 176 bhp to be exact! That’s almost as much as an Audi A4 TFSI (147.5 bhp).
