This Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Replica is Based on Audi S4 - VIDEO

At the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, Bugatti wowed onlookers with their Vision Gran Turismo concept. The one-off real-world concept was based on the digital version for the PlayStation game, Gran Turismo. The Vision Gran Turismo was also a precursor to the Chiron, which debuted the following year and the design parallels are clear to see between the two vehicles. Only one real-world Vision Gran Turismo was made, and it is currently a part of prince Badr bin Saud’s exhaustive collection. Since the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Vision Gran Turismo has been rarely seen and has been described as a unicorn. Today we came across this video which sees the build of a Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Replica from the ground up that took 5 months to complete.

The video of this build has been uploaded by Supercar on YouTube. The build starts by using what looks to be a second-generation Audi S4, which will donate its frame and powertrain. The body for the replica is being made from sheet metal instead of the carbon-fibre construction for the real model, but it is understandable considering how expensive that material is. All the panels are handmade and welded together, which is fascinating considering the intricate details the Vision Gran Turismo has. The chassis of the Audi S4 has been cut and welded back together with more metal sub-frames to fit the replica’s design. The wheels are very similar to the real thing, and their sidewalls are have been painted in the same shade of blue. After the fabrication is done, the replica is sent to the paint shop to get the same dual-tone French blue and black paint job of the original concept. Overall, while it obviously doesn’t have the original's fit and finish, it is still a painstakingly reimagined piece that will catch people’s attention wherever it goes.

Speaking of the donor car, the B5 Audi S4 was the second iteration of the model. It was powered by a twin-turbo petrol V6 which produced 265 PS and 400 Nm of peak power and torque. It was mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission which sent power to all 4 wheels via Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
