While the Chevrolet Camaro was never sold in India, a customizer has tried pretty hard to modify a Chevrolet Cruze into the coveted Ford Mustang rival

Every car enthusiast around the world dreams of owning a sports car at least once in his life. But not every person can make his/her wish come true because of the expensive price tags such cars carry. If you are a bit of a fanatic about such cars, then you must have heard of the name Chevrolet Camaro. The Chevrolet Camaro is a mid-size two-seater muscle car which enjoys a strong cult following across the globe. Internationally, this car competes with the likes of the Ford Mustang. However, the American automaker never introduced it in our market while it still operated on our shores.

Therefore, not many Indians know how this two-seater sports car actually looks like. Recently, we came across a wannabe-Camaro that is currently up for sale. It is originally a Chevrolet Cruze that has been modified into a Camaro, or at least that's what the customizer would like you to think. Talking about the customization job that is performed on the Cruze, we must say, it is extensive. It gets a Camaro-inspired body kit, though it struggles to look like one. Also, it gets some eye-catching elements, like scissor doors and twin exhaust pipes. Definitely, these styling components convert this Cruze into an attention grabber.

While the stock model of the car came with four doors, this modified Cruze now sports a 2-door layout. On the sides, it sits on a set of blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels, which enhances its overall sportiness quotient. A few tweaks have been made to the interior as well. This customized Chevrolet Cruze gets four seats and a sunroof. Overall, this modification job looks rather okayish. This modified Chevrolet Cruze is MY2010 model, and the seller has mentioned the asking price as a rather absurd Rs 10 lakh. Come to think of, stock MY2010 Chevry Cruze are up for grabs for as low as Rs 2 lakh at the moment. Even if you factor in all the modifications this car carries, there is no way that such a high price tag is justified. Talking of the power plant, it sources power from a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, which churns out 163bhp of power and 360 Nm of twisting force. It comes paired to a 6-speed MT. This is the same engine that powered the Cruze and hasn't been tweaked for this 'Camaro'.

Back when the Chevrolet Cruze was officially on sale, a 6-speed automatic gearbox was also a part of the package. Sadly, the American automaker suspended its Indian operations back in 2017. The Cruze was one of the most popular cars to come out of Chevrolet stable in our market.
