The Hyundai Elite i20 Active was a jacked-up version of the regular model which gave it the ability to do some very mild off-roading. Today we came across this modified example for you to check out.

The Hyundai i20 has been one of the best-selling premium hatchbacks in India ever since it was first introduced in 2008. The second-generation Elite i20 was launched 6 years later which followed the previous model’s habit of being a best seller. The Elite i20 also came in a more rugged Active variant which raised the ground clearance and added black cladding around the lower section of the vehicle. It also came with roof rails, front and rear skid plates, an inverted front grille, and a different fuel cap. The i20 Active was a niche buy in India, making it an uncommon sight on Indian roads. And today we came across this particular example which has been modified.

The pictures of this modified Hyundai Elite i20 Active has been uploaded by emc_elite_motor_club over on Instagram. The crossover-hatchback gets a new aggressive bumper that comes with much larger air vents and a splitter at the bottom. The headlights have been retrofitted with projector lamps and aftermarket DRLs, while the front grille gets a new design and a racing-style tow hook has been added. The stock wheels have been binned for a set of what looks to be 17-inch gold multi-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in low-profile rubber. The roof has been painted in black to give this i20 Active a dual-tone finish. Overall, this Elite i20 Active looks quite imposing with its new front-end, and would certainly be easy to spot in traffic.

The Hyundai Elite i20 Active came with a choice of either a petrol or diesel engine. The oil burner is a 1.4-litre four-pot turbo-diesel engine that makes peak power and torque figures of 90 PS and 220 Nm and is paired to a 6-speed manual. The other engine option was a 1.2-litre petrol motor which made 82 PS and 115 Nm of peak power and torque figures.
