Check out this modified Mahindra Roxor in the US, which looks like it was purpose-built to explore the wilderness.

People love customising their vehicles, not only in India, but all around the world. There are plenty of buyers who simply buy a car only to have it modified to their liking. Such personal projects are extremely fun, and sometimes the results are mind-blowing to look at. Here we have one such example of a Mahindra Roxor bought and modified in the United States of America.

The video above has been posted by YouTube channel ‘Red,White,&Roxor’ and features an old modified Mahindra Roxor. There are plenty of changes made to the vehicle, which we shall list here. The entire SUV has been painted black, with a chequered flag stripe on the bonnet. At the front of the car, we see that the front bumper has been replaced by a custom one. The headlights are now LED units with multi-coloured angel rings around them. At the side, the giant wheels and tyres combo draws the most attention. The wheels are 18-inch custom alloy units, with 35/10 rubber on it from a small farm tractor. The entire car has been lifted up by a few inches to add a little more off-road prowess.

As might be evident from the picture, the Roxor is a US-spec Mahindra Thar. It is powered by a 2.5-litre, inline-4, turbocharged, ‘M2DiCR’ diesel engine. This motor is capable of generating 62 PS of peak power and 195 Nm of maximum torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox, and the power is sent to all four wheels via a full-time 4-wheel-drive system. To help the Roxor escape tricky situations, there is a winch kit at the front, provided as an optional accessory. Interestingly, the Mahindra Roxor is not a road-legal car in the US, but sold as a recreational buggy instead.

In other news, Mahindra is readying the next-generation Mahindra Thar for its launch in India. The new generation model is expected to feature a new hydroformed chassis, which is lighter and stronger than the previous model. It might also feature new engine options, but there is no confirmation by the manufacturer on that yet.
