This Modified Tata Harrier Looks Ready For a Mountaineering Trip

Talking of good-looking SUVs that are on sale in the country today, Tata Harrier nearly tops the chart. Based on the lines of Impact Design philosophy, it boasts of some futuristic design cues while keeping intact the old-school charm of an SUV. Since Tata Motors does not offer it with an AWD layout, none can be seen modified with a lift kit, A/T tyres, and other expedition-ready accessories. Although, it is underpinned by a modified version of Land Rover D8 architecture, which also underpins the Discovery and Evoque. But, don’t you folks worry because here’s one, which has been digitally modified by Alpha Renders, and it looks ready to go on every sort of expedition.

To start with, this Tata Harrier now gets bigger rims, which are shod with offroad tyres. To fit them in the wheel wells the suspension has been jacked up a bit. It gets a custom offroad bumper with the provision of a winch, tow shackles, and auxiliary lamps. Also, the radiator grille is now replaced with a different one that gets a ‘TATA’ badge. A set of roof marker lamps can also be seen on this Harrier.

Furthermore, the artist has managed to fit a beefy roof rack on the top of this Harrier along with a couple of bags and cases in it. On the sides, it now gets black cladding for the wheel arches and a massive sidestep, which would also function as a rock slider when required. Overall, with these modifications in place, Harrier looks beefy and apt to go on any expedition.

Powering the Tata Harrier is a capable 2.0L diesel engine, which has been sourced from FCA. It also does duties on the MG Hector and Jeep Compass. This 4-cylinder turbocharged oil burner is designed to put out a rated power output of 170 PS and torque output of 350 Nm. Talking of the gearbox options, there are two of them on offer – 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT. Prices for the Harrier start at Rs. 13.84 lakh and top out at Rs. 20.30 lakh.
