This Suzuki Jimny is a Modified Maruti 800

Maruti 800 is one of the popularly known hatchbacks ever offered in the Indian market. The production of the car was ended by the carmaker more than 6 years ago and was replaced by the Alto 800. It is still owned by a lot of enthusiasts around the country. The car was quite popular among middle-class people because of its affordable price. The 5-seater hatchback is also well-liked by the modifiers because of its compact dimensions and boxy exterior. Here's a new YouTube video where the small hatchback has been modified into Suzuki Jimny. The mod job looks pretty awesome, and it deserves a feature in our story.

The video is uploaded by a YouTube channel named a MAGNETO 11, which shows how much work the modifier has done to make this project a reality. The modification begins by removing the roof of the car along with headlamps, taillights, front and rear bumpers. The bumper up front is made at their customization shop, and it is made up of metal. Along with the modified bonnet, the car also features a new grille which looks quite similar to that of the previous-gen Jimny. Other highlights include LED projector headlamps, new side mirrors, clear lens side indicators, bigger tyres, redesigned wheel arches, auxiliary lights on the top of the rigid bar and much more. Inside, the open roof hatchback gets a white coloured dashboard with blue panels and side-facing seats for the rear passengers. The blue body colour makes the modified Maruti 800 look more eye-catching. Moreover, fabrications are also done by the modifier.

In other news, Suzuki will soon introduce the Jimny in the Indian market. The off-roader was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. Once launched, it’ll compete with the likes of new-gen Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha. Mechanically, it’ll derive power from the 1.5-litre K15B four-pot gasoline mill. The same powertrain does duties in the ongoing Maruti Ciaz, Ertiga and XL6. Reports suggest that the carmaker will launch the 5-door trim of the SUV exclusively for the Indian market.
