This Tata Sumo has been Customized to Looks Like Mercedes-Benz G Wagon

Tata Sumo is one of the most popular SUVs ever offered by the carmaker in the Indian market. The SUV was known among the buyers for its boxy looks, spacious cabin and reliable powertrain. Tata Sumo was never offered with 4X4 drivetrain to the civilians despite being capable of doing some heavy off-roading. Nevertheless, the Army version of the SUV was offered with a 4X4 drive train. It was also quite popular among the customizers because they modify the SUV as per there preference. Here are a few images of Tata Sumo, which has been tastefully modified into Mercedes-Benz G Wagon. 

The Tata Sumo you see here employs G-Wagon kit. Upfront, it gets round headlamps with LED DRLs. It gets a massive Mercedes-like grille with several vertical slats and Mercedes-Benz logo in the middle. On the side, it gets smart looking alloy units, blacked-out wing mirrors and roof. The AMG logo enhances the sporty quotient of the SUV. The rear profile of the SUV gets blacked-out taillight and all-black spare wheel cover with Mercedes-Benz branding. All these customizations have made this Tata Sumo look more striking.

The overall cost of all these modifications is not known, but it seems to be quite expensive. Mechanically, the discontinued Tata Sumo was powered by a 3.0-litre, four-pot engine that produced 84 bhp of maximum power at 3,000 rpm and a peak torque of 250 Nm at 1,000 rpm. Transmission duties were done by a 5-speed manual gearbox, and the SUV was rated to offer 14.7 kmpl of mileage.

The last-gen model of the SUV sold in our market was Sumo Gold. Tata Sumo is the first passenger vehicle ever to be designed in India. In other news, Tata has recently launched the new-gen Safari in our market. It derives power from a 2.0-litre diesel engine. In its segment, it rivals with the likes of MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV500. The 2021 Tata Safari is the flagship car in automaker’s stable.
