The video below shows the current-gen Toyota Fortuner was stuck on the sand and how it was rescued by a Mahindra Thar.

Toyota Fortuner hardly needs a single word of introduction amongst the Indian gearheads. When talking about the Toyota Fortuner, the spectacular off-roading capabilities are things that emerge in our mind the most. There are a wide array of Fortuner owners that regularly take their highly-priced SUV outside to do off-roads. Most of the performances are mind-blowing except for this case. Off-roading trails are extremely risky and in fact, without proper preparations and skills, things are out of control during the go. Here’s such a video that shows a Toyota Fortuner got stuck on the dune and how it was rescued by a Mahindra Thar then.

Toyota Fortuner can show off its compelling off-roading prowess on the trails but sometimes it does not.  As you can see from the video, this black-coloured current-gen Toyota Fortuner became completely stuck on a dune. While its front right wheels are totally submerged into the sand, the rear ones are still rolling in vain in the air, showing no sign of movement.

Toyota Fortuner is quite a good 4x4 off-road oriented SUV but sometimes they couldn't avoid being stuck on the bad roads.

The driver has put much effort to move the car forward but the problem was just going from bad to worse. Later the poor Fortuner seems to need a bit of help and then a Mahindra Thar came. They started tying the rear of the Fortuner with the Mahindra Thar’s winch to pull it out of the loose sand and the Thar did that well. In a blink of the eye, the Fortuner was rescued. At the end of the video, we can see the badass Mahindra Thar running on the sandy surfaces easily at breakneck speed.

Both Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Thar are 4x4 models but it doesn’t mean they won’t get stuck on the off-road sessions. Therefore, it is highly advisable to do the off roads in groups with enough equipment as things could have been worse if you were all alone at the mountainous and far-flung places.

While having the vehicle pulled out, it is important for people not to stand near that area to avoid being injured.

There’re a couple of things that you’d better keep in mind while driving on the soft sandy surfaces. First of all, it is necessary to let some air out of the tyres to reduce the tyre pressure, all the ways to get more traction and make it easier to manoeuvre in the sand. In case your car became stuck on the dune, it is crucial to cover the winching rope with some blanket to ensure it would not be broken during the whiplashing situations. Most importantly, remember to stay away from the area while the car is pulling out as it can cause severe damage to the vehicles and people surrounding them.
