This Toyota Glanza got T-boned by a bus while it was overtaking from the left, however, all the passengers walked out of it with no injuries at all.

Maruti and Toyota confirmed a collaborative approach to sell their cars under a JV. With this exercise, the Toyota Glanza was born. It is more or less a re-badged Maruti Baleno that now retails from the showroom floors of Toyota with a new name. Talking of the safety aspects, Maruti Baleno has scored a 3-star crash test rating at EURO-NCAP crash test apparatus. However, the safety rating of Toyota Glanza is still not known, but we believe it is the same as the Baleno. Here’s a set of pictures that we recently came across, wherein a bus crashed into a Glanza, and luckily all the passengers walked out of it unharmed.

The car in pictures belongs to Naveen Rella, who hails from Raipur, Chattisgarh. The pictures reveal that the right-side rear fender has absorbed the major part of the impact. Also, it looks like as if the owner was trying to overtake the bus from the left lane and ended spinning out on coming in contact with the  right lane a tad bit earlier. However, it could also be the other way around. Also, the owner claims that he is thankful to the Apollo tyres that the Glanza comes with since they helped the car stay stable while the mishap took place.

Talking of the safety equipment, Glanza comes loaded with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD & brake assist, auto-dimming IRVM, ISOFIX child seat anchors, reverse parking sensors, front seat belts with pre-tensioners & force-limiters, seat belt warning, speed sensing auto door lock, impact sensing door unlock, height-adjustable seatbelts, and high-speed warning as standard. The higher variants also get a reverse parking camera and automatic headlamps.

Powering the Glanza is a 1.2L 4-cylinder petrol motor that is capable of putting out a peak power output of 83 PS and a max torque of 113 Nm. However, the top-spec trim of the Glanza also gets a 48V mild-hybrid tech, which increases the peak power output to 90 PS. The transmission options on Glanza are limited to a 5-speed MT and a CVT. In comparison to the Baleno, Glanza comes at a slightly higher starting price tag of Rs. 7.01 lakh.
