Toyota Innova Crysta is one of the most reliable cars that are currently on sale in the country. The Innova Crysta is a global product of the Japanese carmaker, and therefore, it is also sold in the international markets. Moreover, Toyota has recently unveiled the Innova Crysta facelift in the Indonesian market, and it will soon be making its way to the Indian shores. While the reliability of the Innova Crysta is praised across the world, the safety rating it boasts of is another aspect that it excels on. The ongoing model scored a 4-star crash test rating in 2016 at the ASEAN-NCAP’s testbed. However, the new facelifted model has been tested by the ASEAN-NCAP program. Interestingly, it managed to score a complete 5-star crash test rating.

The facelifted avatar of the MPV scored a total of 45.9 points and 21.51 points for the adult occupant safety and child occupant safety, respectively. Moreover, it managed to bag 15.28 points for Safety Assist Technologies. With all of these figures totalling to 82.69 points, the Innova Crysta Facelift is awarded a complete 5-star crash test rating. The Innova Crysta shares its underpinnings with the bigger & brawnier Toyota Fortuner. The latter, however, scored a total of 87.46 points at ASEAN-NCAP’s facility, which is higher than what Innova Crysta facelift could manage. The tested vehicle was the base-spec trim of the MPV, which came fitted with dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESP.

Powering the Indonesia-spec Innova Crysta Facelift is a 2.0L petrol motor. In India, on the other hand, Innova Crysta is offered with different engine options – 2.4L diesel and 2.7L petrol. The former is good enough to develop a peak power output of 150 PS and max torque of 343 Nm. The petrol motor, however, produces a rated output of 166 PS and peak torque of 245 Nm. Both of these engine options are available with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with sequential shift. Prices of Toyota Innova Crysta start at Rs. 15.66 lakh and go up to Rs. 23.63 lakh.
