Toyota Innova Crysta Rolls Over Many Times, Airbags Fail To Deploy but ALL SAFE

Toyota Innova Crysta is one of the best-selling MPVs in the country. Almost every carmaker has made strong attempts to dethrone the Innova Crysta, but none could succeed. The MPV is celebrated for its bullet-proof reliability and comfortable ride. Examples with over 3 lakh kilometres on the odo are quite a common sight. Also, this ladder-frame MPV is considered to be a strong set of wheels. It has proved its mettle in various events of a crash that have been reported on the internet to date. We too came across a video on YouTube, which was uploaded by Prateek Singh on his channel, where an Innova Crysta met with an accident at high speeds.

The accident took place when the Innova Crysta was on its way to Rajgadh from Churu via National Highway 52 in Rajasthan. It was when a cow crossed the road and the driver of the Innova Crysta lost his control over the car in order to save the animal. As a result, the Innova Crysta rolled over for more than 4 times for almost 50 meters before falling off the road. When the accident took place, there were 5 occupants in the car. Luckily, all of them walked out of it uninjured.

The car, however, has suffered serious damages on both the sides and on the roof. Since Innova Crysta’s nose did not suffer any impact, the airbags failed to deploy, which is not appreciable at any cost. Even in some recent cases, Toyota cars have suffered serious issues regarding the airbags' inflation mechanism.

Toyota Innova Crysta is offered with 2 engine options – 2.7L petrol and 2.4L diesel. The 4-cylinder petrol motor is capable of developing a peak power output of 166 PS and 245 Nm of max torque. The oil burner, on the other hand, puts out a rated power and torque output of 150 PS and 360 Nm, respectively. The transmission options available on the Innova Crysta are a 5-speed MT and 6-speed AT. Talking of the prices, Innova Crysta starts at Rs. 15.66 lakh and tops out at Rs. 24.67 lakh.
