1. Audi Q7 2020

Starting off the list with one of the highest-selling luxury car brands in India, Audi is set to launch the facelifted Q7 that comes to replace the previous SUV in the country in 2020. While the Covid-19 virus pandemic has slowed things down and caused the launch of Audi Q7 to be delayed at a later date, we expect the upcoming Audi Q7 SUV could come to us within the year-end, possibly in December of 2020.

The Audi Q7 facelift will be loaded with premium features on the inside and out and becomes more powerful on the mechanical front. The impressive features on the new Q7 include Audi Virtual Cockpit, two touchscreens for the infotainment system, a 12.3-inch LCD digital instrument cluster, 3D surround sound with high-quality HD radio technology, keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers, auto drive, cruise control, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera among others.

The upcoming Q7 2020 will employ a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine that churns out 248 PS of power and 273 Nm of peak torque. Also, there’s a 3.0-litre TFSI petrol burner generating 335 PS/ 369 Nm of torque. Both engines will come mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission combined with the Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The Audi Q7 facelift is expected to be priced higher than the existing model which now starts from Rs 69.22 lakh (ex-showroom).

2. Mercedes-Benz E-Class 2020

The list of upcoming cars in India under 1 crore can’t see the absence of a Mercedes and we are setting out to see new E-Class 2020 coming in the pipeline. For those searching for the new Mercedes E-Class launch timeline in India, the German luxury carmaker has revealed that the saloon will reach our shores during the first half of next year.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class 2020 will receive some minor design changes on the outside and inside, in the form of new wider brake lights, more rounded LED headlights, split tail lamps, new bumper and boot lid, slightly refreshed front grille, new steering, latest-gen MBUX multimedia system, new wheel, body colours and interior theme options, etc.

Powering the new E-Class will be two engine options, a 254 PS BS6-ready 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 256 PS BS6-spec 3.0-litre V6 petrol unit, all paired with a mild-hybrid system. The diesel range, in the meantime, gets a 2.0-litre and a 3.0-litre oil burner, both of which features an expanded emission control system. Since the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (long-wheelbase version) is the brand’s best-selling model in our market, it will be exciting to see the new updated E-Class

3. Jaguar I-Pace

Jaguar’s first all-electric SUV, the Jaguar I-Pace is the next model in the list of upcoming cars in India under 1 crore. While the global-spec Jaguar I-Pace has gone on sale since 2018, the India-spec car is set to hit the market in late 2020 or early 2021. The Jaguar I-Pace will join the premium EV segment in India with the price estimated at around Rs 58 lakh (ex-showroom).

By housing an electric motor on each axle, the Jaguar I-Pace will deliver up to 400 PS of power that propels it from 0 to 100 kmph in only 4.8 seconds. Apart from the powerful motors, the Jaguar I-Pace is also fitted with a massive 90 kWh lithium-ion battery that gives the car a driving range of 470 kilometres on a single charge. As claimed by the company, the battery can be charged with enough power to run 270 kilometres via a 50 kW DC charger in just 60 minutes. The 7 kW AC charger will take about 10 hours to charge the battery to 80 per cent.

As far as the design is concerned, the Jaguar I-Pace looks quite elegant yet sporty on the outside. The car features a lip spoiler along with a raked rear windscreen to give it a crossover look. At the front, the Jaguar I-Pace boasts of stretched LED headlamps with a regular front grille that gives it a bulky face.

4. Audi Q5 2021

Spotting the roaring demand for the SUV segment in the Indian market, Audi India has officially announced that its all-new Q5 SUV will make it to our country sometime next year. The Audi Q5 has been doing extremely well in many other countries like UK and US hence we expect it brings just the same set of excitement once it’s launched in our country.

The all-new Audi Q5 2021 will derive the power from a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre TFSI turbo-petrol engine that’s capable of developing 248 PS of power and 273 Nm of peak torque. This mill will be coupled with a 7-speed S-Tronic DCT unit that, like the Q7, boasts of a Quattro AWD system. As per the latest test cycle, the Audi Q5 2021 is capable of accelerating to 100 kmph from a standstill in around 6 seconds.

Some highlighting features on the upcoming Audi Q5 2021 might include a massive touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity, high-end speakers with Wifi supports along with a fully-digital instrument cluster among others. 5. Ford Mustang 2021

The Ford Mustang, though currently not sold in India, is set to make a comeback to the Indian market by early 2021. 6. Audi TT 2021

The Audi TT 2021 will come with quite similar specifications to the previous-gen model. 7. Kia Stinger

Kia has quite a dream start when it first set foot in India with the Kia Seltos. Its second model, Kia Carnival is also doing well in its space and the same is expected for the recently-unveiled Kia Sonet.

Recently, Kia revealed the Stinger facelift to the world’s enthusiasts before its official launch in the home market, South Korea. While the carmaker remains silent on the Indian launch of the Stinger, the South Korean carmaker has showcased the car in its high-performance GT variant in India in 2018 so it’s safe to expect the Kia Stinger to be launched in our country sometime next year.

The Kia Stinger is really something that’s worth waiting for. Powering the Kia Stinger will be a 2.0-litre petrol engine rated at 247 PS of power and 353 Nm of peak torque. There’s also a 2.2-litre diesel engine that offers 200 PS of max power and 440 Nm of torque. The performance-spec GT variant of the Stinger that will come with a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine offering 370 PS/ 510 Nm of torque.

As with Kia cars, the Kia Stinger will also be loaded to the gills with features like flat-bottom steering, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, high-quality Nappa leather seats, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and so on.

8. BMW 5-Series 2021

The BMW 5-Series has always been a crowd favourite, not only in India but also around the world. Good news is, we are likely to see the new version of the 5-Series launch in India in mid-2021. The new upcoming BMW 5-Series is said to come with three different engine options under the bonnet - namely a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol hybrid and a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol unit.

The 2.20-litre turbo engine will output 248 PS of power against 258 Nm of torque while the 3.0-litre engine will churn out 335 PS/ 322 Nm of torque. The biggest 4.4-litre V8 engine is tuned to generate an impressive power of 523 PS and a decent torque figure of 553 Nm. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed automatic transmission for all these engine options.

The 2021 BMW 5-Series will come off as a decently-equipped sedan. It will pack some latest features offered on BMW car such as Wifi hotspot, 12.3-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, lane control assist, satellite radio and many others.

 9. BMW i3

Another BMW car in the list of upcoming cars in India under 1 crore will be the BMW i3 that is expected to hit the Indian showrooms in the middle of 2021. Being a small EV from the renowned German automaker, the BMW i3 looks absolutely stunning on the outside and feels upmarket on the inside.

The Tesla Model 3 sources the power from a 50 kWh Lithium-ion battery for the standard variant and a 75 kWh lithium-ion battery for the more powerful version. The battery can return a driving range of 354 km for the standard model while that of the more powerful variant is even at 534 km on a full single charge. The Tesla Model 3 can take around 5.6 seconds to rocket from 0 to 100 kmph. It can be charged via a DC charger in just 30 mins for a range of 209 kilometres. The Tesla Model 3 is quite a decently-priced drive once it’s launched here. The estimated introductory price of the Model 3 in India is at Rs 70 lakh so it’s understandable if it has a lot of premium features on tap. They are a massive 15.4-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment system that also serves as the digital instrument cluster, keyless NFC keycard, parking cameras with Autopilot mode and so forth.
