Upcoming Ford SUV for India Rendered- Based On Mahindra XUV500

Recently, images of the upcoming Ford C-SUV surfaced online revealing its front grille, headlamps and pronounced hood. The new Ford SUV has been codenamed as CX757, and it’ll rub shoulders with the likes of MG Hector and Tata Harrier. Here’s a recent digital rendering made by our in-house designer Shoeb R. Kalania. The rendering can give you an idea that how the upcoming Ford SUV C-SUV could look like. The front fascia of the SUV gets a massive chrome studded grille. It gets three-stripe horizontally stacked LED DRL. The headlamps are employed on the lower part of the bumper. It looks similar to the one we see in many modern-day cars.

Moreover, it also gets a faux skid plate to enhance the rugged look of the SUV. The all-new Ford C-SUV will be the first production model under the partnership of Ford Motor Company and Mahindra & Mahindra. It will be based the platform of upcoming new-gen Mahindra XUV500, which is slated to hit the Indian shores by the first half of next year. The interesting part is that the Ford SUV will be the first model that will be designed by Mahindra-owned Pininfarina, and the project is likely to be managed by American automaker’s Cologne-based in Germany. The all-new Ford SUV will derive power from the same powertrain, which will propel the second-gen Mahindra XUV500.

The SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre mStallion gasoline and 2.2-litre diesel motor. The former will develop 190bhp of peak power, while the latter will produce a power output of 180bhp. It is likely to be offered with two gearbox options- a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The upcoming Ford C-SUV is expected to be launched by 2022. In the automaker’s stable the SUV will be positioned above the Ford EcoSport and below the Endeavour. The features of the all-new Ford SUV are still undercover. But, the cabin of the car is expected to get a large single-piece touchscreen that will work as an infotainment unit and instrument console.
