An owner of the VW T-Roc initially wanted to buy the Tata Harrier but was disappointed by the dealership. Next, he booked the Kia Seltos but finally bought the VW T-ROC

Earlier this year, the local subsidiary of Volkswagen introduced the T-ROC, its latest compact SUV. In its segment, the T-ROC rivals with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass. It is retailed at a price point of Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). While many were excited about the introduction of the new model, a lot of potential buyers around the country are quite disappointed with the high price tag. It must be noted here that the VW T-ROC sold in our market comes via CBU route, and this is the only reason for its exorbitant pricing. Today, however, we have a YouTube video in which an owner of the VW T-ROC explains why he bought the VW SUV over its competitors.

The vlogger says that when he was on a look out for a compact SUV, he considered many cars in this segment. His requirement was to buy a compact car with a turbo-petrol engine coupled to a DCT. First, he visited a Tata dealership near his place to check out the 2020 Harrier, but was quite disappointed with the attitude of the salesperson. Moreover, the Harrier was also not fulfilling his requirements as it only comes with a turbo-diesel engine. Next, the vlogger visited a Jeep dealership to check out the Compass. He was impressed with the overall build quality of the SUV,  but the only problem he faced was that most of the Jeep dealerships in Punjab have been shut down due to poor sales, and the future of the remaining ones is quite uncertain.

Moreover, he did not pick up the new Hyundai Creta because he thinks that the design of the new-gen model is not as good as compared to first-gen Creta. At last, he booked Kia Seltos because there was no other option left and he was impressed by the Korean SUV. The vlogger already owns VW Polo and was interested in the T-ROC, but he was not able to buy one because all the units of the SUV have been sold out. Interestingly, a few days after booking the Kia Seltos, he got a call from the VW dealership that he can get the T-ROC in case he still wants to buy one. The vlogger says that as compared to its competitors, the T-ROC does not come loaded with a lot of features, but in terms of build quality and interior, it feels very plush and premium. Hence, he was quick to cancel the booking of the Kia Seltos and opted to bring home premium VW compact SUV.
