Recently, a Maruti Swift was seen floating on a street on Hyderabad as the city is experiencing a flood-like situation due to heavy downpour.

India is a country of varied and extraordinary climatic conditions. While one corner of the nation would be dealing with the mercury soaring all high, another might be encountering heavy downpour. As of now, the capital city of Telangana state – Hyderabad is experiencing torrential rains, which have affected the complete transportation system of the city. The streets have turned to streams, and the cars can be seen floating and piling up on each other due to the high water level. Recently, Uma Sudhir shared a video of such an incident on Twitter. In the video, a red Maruti Swift (Last-gen model) can be seen stranded in the middle of the road.

Then, another red Maruti Swift (Current-gen model) is seen floating towards the marooned car and then collides with it. The drama did not stop here, as another car (old-gen Honda City) also joined this pile-up. Well, these are the only cars that were recorded on the camera, but we are sure that there would have been many more such pile-ups in the city. Hence, it is always advised to park the car in a safe environment. If this Maruti Swift was in a closed parking space, it would not be floating around the town with the flow of water. Thankfully, such losses are covered under the insurance policy.

Maruti Swift is one of the best-selling hatchbacks in the country. Its facelifted version is expected to go on sale in the country by festive season this year. With the update, the Swift will come with the 1.2L Dualjet engine, which also does duties on the Dzire. This 4-cylinder naturally aspirated motor is good enough to push out a rated power output of 90 PS, which is slightly higher than the 83 PS of peak power output of the ongoing model. The max torque output of 113 Nm, however, will remain the same. The gearbox options on the Swift include a 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT. With the update, the Swift will also get some minor cosmetic changes – redesigned alloy wheels, new radiator grille and more.
