Check out the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar driving around in an ATV and an SUV during Apollo Tyres’ BadRoadBuddies event.

In March 2019, Apollo Tyres organised an event called #BadRoadBuddies, with more than 40 automotive enthusiasts undertaking a journey from Goa to Dandeli (Karnataka). The event was mostly an off-road driving event with SUVs for company. The tyre manufacturer had also invited its brand ambassador, Sachin Tendulkar, to the event, who decided to have some fun himself!

In the video above, you can see the Master Blaster enjoying an off-road drive, in an ATV as well as in a BMW X3. The terrain was quite technical, and we can see the Bimmer struggling to keep its wheels gripping the surface. Technically speaking, BMW X3 was probably a really bad choice for off-roading. We all know that BMW cars are extremely sporty and built for ultimate driving pleasure, but only for the road. Even though the X3 is an SUV, it is low slung and hard a hard suspension setup, favourable for good handling on the road. We can also see the ground clearance is also not adequate when gong over a crest. Thankfully, there is an AWD option available.

The video then shows us Sachin Tendulkar driving an ATV, specifically a Polaris RZR1000. Even though the Polaris is much smaller and easier to drive off the road than the BMW, we can see him being cautious and not speeding unnecessarily. Show-boating can lead to accidents, and Mr. Tendulkar seems to understand it well. We urge our readers to be cautious as well, every time you’re behind the wheel or on your motorbike.

“We wanted to provide budding off-roaders and enthusiasts a platform to come together and discover the roads less travelled across the vast Indian terrain. Bad Road Buddies is a special initiative curated by Apollo Tyres for them. We are extremely excited about our first edition of #BadRoadBuddies. This would also help the off-roaders experience the Apollo Apterra tyres, which are designed to tackle the rough roads with ease, making the journey more thrilling.”
