Watch Tata Nexon on Deadly Roads of Himalayas

Being one of the most popular compact SUVs in India, the Tata Nexon is a fairly capable vehicle, not only on the highways but also on the rough terrains. In its updated avatar, the Tata Nexon comes with punchy engines and boasts of adequate off-road prowess. Although Tata Nexon is among the safest cars in India with a 5-star rating from the Global NCAP, it is not considered a proper SUV to handle the dangerous terrains with speed-breakers like rock and ruts. In such cases, 4x4 SUVs turn out to be preferable choices. However, here’s a video showing a Tata Nexon successfully navigating through the perilous rocky roads in the Himalayas even at night.

It’s a breath-taking adventure. No, we’re not talking about the driver merely but even the viewers themselves as well, as one must have held their breath watching this video. Uploaded by Ridiculous Amazing on their Youtube channel, this video shows us a facelifted Tata Nexon passing through the toughest section of the Himalayan roads. It shows us how brave and skilful the driver was, certainly. But it also proves the stellar off-roading capabilities of the Tata Nexon which should be the very first front-wheel-drive vehicle to reach this destination.

As you can see in the video, the Nexon is going through the narrow routes that are literally no roads at all. With high peaks on one side and deep canyons on another side, this is among the most ridiculous yet thrilling journey for the Nexon ever. The roads are covered by dust, sand and rocks. From time to time, the Nexon has to climb a steep section with some hairpin bends at places. There’s even a river bed with huge stones on the go. However, since the Tata Nexon has a high ground clearance and thanks to the excellent driving skills of the driver, the Nexon, albeit struggling at places, manages to overcome the obstacles in eventually. To the end of the video, the driver even finds it trickier tackle the deadly roads during night time. Who says we need ghosts to be scared at night?

Currently, the Tata Nexon is available with petrol and diesel engine option. The car featured in the video was the diesel variant. The petrol version of the Nexon employs a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine belting out 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. Whereas, the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel motor can make 110 PS of max power against 260 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AMT option. The Nexon is now on sale at the prices of around Rs 6.99 – 12.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
