Tata Motors launched the Sierra in the Indian market back in 1991. Also, it was the first SUV to be designed and produced indigenously in the country. With a 3-door design and huge side-mounted non-openeable windows, the Sierra was fancied by the Indian masses for its looks. Also, the boxy silhouette gave it a tough appeal, which is highly required in an SUV. However, the car was discontinued in the year 2000. So, if you plan to get one home, the only way to get the job done is to find a clean example of the Sierra in the used car market. Tata Sierra was based on Telcoline pickup, which was based on the Mercedes-Benz's T-2 chassis.

It is a 1998 model and thus, comes with the turbocharged engine. Initially, Tata Motors launched the Sierra with the same engine as the Telcoline pickup. It was a Peugeot-sourced naturally-aspirated 1948 cc diesel engine with a peak power output of 63 HP. In 1998, the carmaker updated Sierra’s engine with a turbocharger to increase the rated power output to 87 HP. Coming back to the car, it has clocked a lakh kilometer on the odometer and is due for a renewal of registration in 2024.

Tata Sierra is an old-school SUV by all means, but it get the touch of moderness in the form of a glass roof.

The car appears to be in pristine condition, at least, in pictures. It wears a black-ish green paint that very well suits its tough looks. Also, it sits rides a set of steelies shod with upsized AT rubber. A set of auxiliary lamps have also been mounted on to the upper grille of the car. The asking price for this Sierra is Rs. 3.00 lakh, whichm according to us, is not too high. Since finding a clean example of the car with a renewed registration is next to impossible., this is not a bad deal by any means. Also, we think that the price would be negotiable to some extent.
