Under Rs 4 Lakh for the New Hyundai Santro

Through some images emerged on the Internet last week, the model of new Hyundai Santro is partially leaked. Besides some information already known about the car, it can be also seen that the targeted price of the new Santro is very aggressive. Some reliable sources revealed that the introductory price for the 5-speed manual base trim is anticipated to be around Rs 3.7 lakh. Meanwhile, the two severe rivals of Hyundai which are the Tata Tiago and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio set their prices at Rs 3.4 lakh and Rs 4.21 lakh, respectively. It is expected that the ATM- equipped variants will expectedly cost around Rs 30,000 lakh more than their manual siblings. The estimated cost of the range-topping Santro is Rs 5.4 (ex-showroom).

The trim-specific information has not been revealed but Hyundai’s confirmation could a little bit disappoint buyers that the Santro AMT will be unavailable in the top-spec trim and some exclusive features of the manual car will also be missed out. Nevertheless, it can be ensured that the upcoming Santro AMT will have a touchscreen infotainment system of 5.7 inches provided with top contenders such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Hyundai is planning of equipping the Santro by a 1.1-litre petrol engine with 63hp of power. The auto manufacturer will offer a standard 5-speed manual transmission and an option of AMT; a 20.3 kpl fuel consumption figure tested by ARAI and a CNG variant right after launching the vehicle. Its counterparts, Maruti, also launches the Celerio with a CNG variant while Tata Tiago does not. Tata Tiago; however, offers a diesel engine that is unavailable on both the new Santro and the Celerio.
