Honda’s iconic sedan, the all-new Civic is all set to make its arrival in the Indian market next month. Prior to its launch, the feature and technical packages of the much-awaited Honda Civic have been released, marking the manufacturer's initial advertising campaign to grasp for larger interest. This is the first time that after a number of rumours and spy shots, we can access to the official feature list of the all-new India-spec Honda Civic.
The 2019 Honda Civic has been unveiled with a host of outstanding features
After jumping over a huge success in the D-segment vehicles in India, the Honda Civic stumbled in 2012 owing to the lack of diesel engine on offer. Beware of that memorable experience, the Japanese-owned automotive company, for the very first time, comes to offer an oil burner in its ten-generation avatar. The all-new Honda Civic will be made available with a 1.6-litre i-DTEC 4-cylinder engine borrowed from the Honda CRV producing 120 PS and 300 Nm torque. Besides, the 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol engine will come tuned for 141 PS of max power and 174 Nm units. The former is likely to team with a 6-speed manual gearbox to offer the class-leading mileage of 26.8 kmpl while the latter is engaged with a CVT automatic transmission.
This is the first time that Civic comes with a diesel powertrain option
In an effort to undercut the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Corolla Altis and Skoda Octavia, the latest Honda Civic will witness a handful of segment-first features, namely the sunroof, electronic parking brake, handling assist, lane-watch camera and a digital MID unit.

As a first-in-the-class fitment, the Electronic Parking Brake, which can be activated by an easy action of pulling a switch, is very supportive during the stop-and-go traffic. Meanwhile, the Handling Assist can help to maintain the vehicle’s stability thanks to inside-wheels brake in some cases like cornering. Particularly, the Honda Civic is expected to strongly impress users with Walk Away Locking function which enables automatically locking the sedan when the users leave the car from about 2.5 metres.
Bookings for the Honda Civic has been opened for a token amount of Rs 30,000
In order to enhance the optimum versatility of the car, the carmaker will introduce the first-ever Lane Watch System in the forthcoming Civic. It is built to automatically transmit the real-time video on the 7-inch infotainment touchscreen via a camera mounted on the left-side mirror.
As it has been revealed in the spy pics, the upcoming Honda Civic receives the plethora of styling upgrades. The car gets a new set of LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs and tail lamps. The fog lamps look sharper by the addition of chrome garnish while the front grille, door handles and window lines also witness the inclusion of chrome smatterings. The Honda sedan will come packed with newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels and turn indicators mounted on the front fender.
