The fifth-gen Honda City was scheduled to be unveiled to the masses in India in March this year. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the event was called off. Since the government has now started pulling-off the restrictions, the all-new Honda City would soon be making its way to the showroom floors. The C-segmenter is expected to be launched in the country by next month as the Japanese-carmaker has recently released a new teaser image of the car. The City in its fifth-generation will only be sold in the range-topping VX and ZX trims only. Also, it will be sold alongside the outgoing 4th-gen model of the City.
2020 Honda City Will Launch In Top-end Variants Only
In the teaser image, the City can be seen equipped with LED headlamps and fog lamps. We expect the latter to be offered as standard fitment on both the variants, while the lesser VX trim is expected to come with projector headlamps. The fifth-gen City is already launched in international markets. It boasts of matured and evolved design in comparison to the outgoing car. It indeed looks sleeker than before.
Talking of the dimensions, the new-gen City will be 4,549 mm long, 1,748 mm wide, and 1,489 mm tall. With these dimensions, it will be 109 mm longer, 53 mm wider, and 6mm lower than the outgoing model. However, it will have the same wheelbase as the current-gen City of 2,600 mm.

While the power output of the oil burner is not known yet, the petrol motor will put out 121 PS of peak power. The transmission options expected to be offered on the new-gen City are a 6-speed MT and a CVT. The new-gen City will also come loaded to the gills in terms of features on-board. It will come with Lane Watch assist, electric G-force dial, and more. These features were earlier limited to the bigger and expensive Honda cars only. Also, the new-gen Honda City will be one of the safest cars on sale in India with a 5-star ANCAP crash-test rating.
