Small all-electric SUV is confirmed to be launched in early 2019.

Audi is working on their new electric SUV that will be launched in early 2019. And the concept car that the SUV is based on will be introduced soon.

Audi’s SUV is built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform which has been underpinned VW’s electric vehicle line-up. This platform is one of the various choices that Audi usually provides their models, for example, the MLB (modular longitudinal platform) used on the e-Tron and e-Tron Sportback or the J1 Architecture that takes on the e-Tron GT. MED in compared with other option is less expensive, which creates an edge for itself on the market. There will be no surprise if the SUV will become Audi’s top-selling models.

This small SUV from Audi will sit under the bigger vehicles like Q2 or Q3. It will be among the more affordable electric models in Audi’s production portfolio. The price of the SUV will be on par with the e-Tron SUV, e-Tron GT as well as the e-Tron Sportback.

The source from inside the company has confirmed that the new SUV will take on the design cues from the e-Tron GT. Specifically, the e-Tron might inherit the prominent shoulder line and the grille design.

In Audi’s long-term plan, there will be 12 electric models to arrive by 2025, globally. For the India market, Audi will introduce the new e-Tron in late 2019 but this small SUV’s entry into our market is not confirmed yet.
