MG Motor India has silently launched its BS6-spec MG Hector diesel in India at the price starting from Rs 13.88 Lakh and going up to Rs 17.73 Lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
As such, prices of the diesel-powered SUV has increased by as much as Rs 45,000 over the BS4 models. Earlier this year, MG Motor also introduced the BS6-compliant petrol version of the Hector which costs somewhere between Rs 12.74 – 17.44 Lakh (all prices, ex-showroom), posting a price hike of Rs 26,000 over the outgoing BS4 variants.

In its BSVI avatar, the Hector carries on using a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Fiat-sourced MultiJet II diesel engine that develops 170 PS of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. This engine still comes connected with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard gearbox option. As before, the MG Hector continues to be offered in four major trims including Style, Super, Smart and Sharp.

In the coming months, MG will bring on the three-row version of the Hector, named the Hector Plus in the domestic space. MG showcased the Hector Plus at the Auto Expo 2020, alongside a barrage of new vehicles like a full-sized SUV MG Gloster, the MG RC-6 executive sedan and a premium MPV.
Though the launch of MG Hector Plus and MG Gloster are lined up for this year, the ongoing global pandemic might or might not push the launch timeline of these SUVs to a later date.
