DS7 SUV Spied On Testing In India

DS7 might be PSA Group’s first shot in the India market. The SUV is spotted being on test on India roads.

The Indian market will welcome many new carmakers to officially kick off their business in India, PSA Group, the largest car company in France who owns Peugeot and Citroen, is among the new faces.

Established in 2014, DS Automobiles is a sub-brand of Citroen. This brand aims at the premium car market. While most of the models are reworked version of Citroen’s cars. The first production for their own was showcased at Geneva Motor Show in 2017. The car is recently on sale in Europe at the price around $28,000, approximately Rs 25 lakhs. It was an SUV named DS7, and in 2019, this model might enter the Indian market. It has been caught on test in India roads recently. Right now, the DS7 sits on the premium SUV segment, competing with Audi Q5, BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and Mercedes GLE.

The car is not covered in mule or any camouflage. It seems that they are ready to be seen. Being seen on the orange colour paint, the India-bound DS7 is familiar to the Europe version.

On the international DS7, the car hosts some impressive features, including the adjustable suspension system which allows the car to automatically adapt the suspension setting to the driving conditions.

The powertrain options available on the current global DS7 includes internal combustion engine like petrol and diesel. Besides, hybrid and all-electric options are also available. The petrol version is powered by either a 1.2-litre unit with 180bhp or a 1.6-litre engine with 225bhp on offer while the oil burner options include a 1.5-litre unit and a 2.0-litre engine, which could make 130bhp and 180bhp, respectively.


It is not sure what will be offered on the Indian-spec DS7

It is actually not the first attempt from PSA Group to enter the Indian market. Hopefully, they will get better at this game this time around. The new SUV will be manufactured at their plant in Tamil Nadu which just went into operation last month.
