Hyundai has recently revised the prices of the Hyundai Verna. Prices of the Verna variants are increased by Rs 9,000 across the range except for the top-spec DCT Turbo trim which receives a price hike of up to Rs 18,000. Along with the price updates, Hyundai also added a new entry-level variant to the range of the Verna. The new E variant is priced at Rs 9.03 lakh. With the addition of the new base variant, Hyundai has managed to lower the starting price of the Verna by Rs 27,000. Hyundai Verna E variant will be available with the 1.5-litre MPI petrol mill with six-speed manual transmission only. This engine is powerful enough to put out a top power of Rs 114 Bhp and a maximum torque of 144 Nm.

To justify the lower price tag, Hyundai Verna’s new base variant is available with less equipment than the former entry-level S variant. The E trim misses out on the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity support system. Moreover, the sunglass holder and USB fast charger are unavailable on the new base variant.

Apart from these omissions, Hyundai Verna E’s feature list will be similar to that of the S trim. It comes with one-touch driver power window, manual climate control with rear AC vents, chilled glovebox, 2-DIN stereo system, adjustable head restraints, steering-mounted audio controls, and remote central locking. As the safety list goes, the Hyundai Verna E trim is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, impact sensing automatic door unlock, speed sensing automatic door lock, engine immobilizer, anti-theft alarm system and more.
Hyundai Verna E will come with fewer features than the former base model
Besides the 1.5-litre petrol engine powering the base variant, Hyundai Verna also comes with a 1.0-litre GDI petrol engine and a 1.5-diesel engine. Mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox, the turbo petrol unit is capable of making 118 Bhp and 172 Nm. The only diesel engine, on the other hand, is good for 114 Bhp and 250 Nm. This engine is comes paired to either a 6-speed automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual unit.
Prior to the recent price updates, Hyundai Verna was given a mid-life facelift earlier this year. Upon launch, the facelifted Hyundai Verna was priced from Rs 9.30 lakh to Rs 15.01 lakh. After receiving the price updates, Hyundai Verna is now available from Rs 9.03 lakh to Rs 15.19 lakh, making it more affordable than its arch-rival, Honda City.
