The current Mahindra Marazzo, which was launched at the beginning of this month, is equipped with a simple pair of a diesel-powered engine and a manual gearbox. To be more specific, it is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine, which can churn out 121 BHP at 3,500 rpm and 300 Nm at 1,750-2,500 rpm. This engine comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Also getting the power from a similar engine, the forthcoming S201 subcompact SUV becomes the most powerful vehicle in the segment.

A flexible hybrid platform underpins the Marazzo, which allows for the production of more exceptional products in the coming time. According to a press release, a 6-speed automatic transmission is being built for the Marazzo by Mahindra in cooperation with Magnetti Marelli. But Mahindra has not confirmed yet whether a diesel or petrol engine will be utilized.
Though nothing has been confirmed yet, if Mahindra adds more variants to the model line-up, the range of customers can become wider, increasing Mahindra’s competitiveness with other brands.
