The fifth-gen Honda City has been among the most-awaited launches of this year. The automaker has recently announced that they will reveal the pricing of the all-new model on 15th July 2020. Honda has already revealed the trim-wise features of the car ahead of its official launch. Interestingly, the new-gen City will be retailed alongside the outgoing model. The ongoing Honda City is offered in four different variants and is priced between Rs 9.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 14.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the local subsidiary of the Japanese automaker will not offer the new sedan in the entry-level S trim. The upcoming City will be offered in three different variants, namely- V, VX and ZX.

The price of the all-new model is expected to start from Rs 13 lakh for the entry-level trim and go all the way up to Rs 16 (ex-showroom) for the top-of-the-line variant. Once launched, it’ll lock horns with the likes of Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Maruti Ciaz, VW Vento and Skoda Rapid. The new-gen City has received some significant changes on the outside and inside along with a new gasoline mill. The fifth-gen City will be powered by a twin-cam 1.5-litre petrol unit that produces 121bhp of peak power and 145 Nm of twisting force. The diesel trim of the sedan will feature a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre oil-burner that puts out 100bhp of maximum power and 200 Nm of peak torque. The petrol motor will comes paired with a 6-speed MT or a CVT, while the diesel unit will come mated to a 6-speed MT.

The carmaker’s popular C2-segment sedan has also grown in terms of dimensions. The new-gen Honda City is 113 mm longer and 53 mm wider compared to the ongoing model. Inside, the all-new Honda City features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Weblink connectivity. It also features Honda Connect with Telematic Control unit that offers over 32 features. Also, the all-new City will be India’s first car to come up with Alexa Support. In the near future, Honda could also launch the City RS Turbo.
