Korean carmaker Hyundai is all set to launch the new-gen Hyundai Verna in India within a few weeks from now. As we've confirmed earlier that Hyundai will launch the all-new model in four different Variants namely- S, S+, SX and SX(O). The 1.5-litre, diesel mill will be offered with SX and SX(O) variants, while the 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol mill will be retailed in a single top-spec SX(O) trim. Moreover, colour shades like Typhoon Silver, Polar White, Starry Night, Phantom Black, Titan Grey and Fiery Red will also be on offer.

Now, a recent report suggests that the diesel-power 2020 Hyundai Verna will offer 21.4 kmpl of mileage. The mileage figure of the all-new model is lesser than the Maruti Ciaz diesel variant. The 1.3-litre, Maruti Ciaz diesel was the most fuel-efficient sedan in its segment but is now discontinued. Once launched the all-new model will compete with the likes of Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna and upcoming 2020 Honda City.

The 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine also powers the ongoing Hyundai Venue
Mechanically, the new-gen Hyundai Verna will get propelled by three BS-VI compliant powertrain options. The base one is a 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol unit, which puts out power and torque outputs of 115bhp and 145 Nm. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel motor is tuned to offer 115bhp and 250 Nm of twisting force. The petrol mill will be offered with a CVT gearbox, while the diesel trim comes paired with a torque converter.
The carmaker is also planning to offer a top-spec, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill that produces 120 bhp of peak power and 177 Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties will be done by a 7-DCT automatic transmission. The 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine also powers the ongoing Hyundai Venue. As compared to the standard trim, the 1.0-litre turbocharged variant will come loaded with some added features like paddle shifters, piano black grille, dual-exhaust tip, blacked-out interiors with red accents and front parking sensors.
