The home-grown automaker has recently launched the new-gen model of the Mahindra Thar, a highly-popular off-road SUV. The next two Mahindra SUVs which will receive a new generation in the foreseeable future will be the Mahindra Scorpio and the XUV500. While the former is expected to be put on sale in the first quarter of next year, the latter will be launched in the second quarter of 2021. Both the new models will receive remarkable upgrades as regards the design, features and powertrain options.
The domestic automaker has recently registered new names for the new-gen Mahindra Scorpio in four different formats with the ‘Mahindra Scorpio Sting’ nameplate being likely to be adopted. It is also reported that the current-gen model will continue to be sold alongside the new one. The new-gen Scorpio will maintain the traditional SUV proportions. According to spy shots, the SUV features a signature body and upright stance with large windows. Underpinned by the new ladder-frame platform borrowed from the new-gen Mahindra Thar, the new Scorpio will measure greater in length and width than the existing model.
